What is a palatal obturator

It is a prosthesis for patients who have lost the palate or a portion of it, due to cancer, injuries or congenital abnormalities. It restores or improves aesthetics and lost functions, such as eating, breathing, swallowing and communicating.

Why is it important to have a palatal obturator before surgery where palatal structures will be remove

This prosthesis will allow a better recovery, guided and controlled healing, less psychological impact and comfortable feeding and communicating.

When is it appropriate to use a palatal obturator
